Committees & Task Forces

Volunteers are vital to FSAE’s success.   A special thanks to all of the committee members for their sustained energy and enthusiastic involvement.

A committee meets throughout the year; a task force meets as needed. Some groups are very small, others need several volunteers.  With the exception of the Associate Advisory Committee, our committees and task forces meet by conference call.  If you are interested in serving on a committee or task force please contact the FSAE office at fsae@fsae.org or 850-222-7994.

FSAE Committees & Task Forces

1. Annual Conference Committee  assures the success and value of the FSAE Annual Conference. This group works closely with FSAE staff as ambassadors to assist in promoting attendance, marketing the conference, securing sponsorships, and providing logistical support during the event.

Education Committee supports a core mission of FSAE and develops and executes educational programs at the Annual Conference and other education through out the year for all categories of members.

-Marketing Task Force does outreach to members and prospects to create buzz about the Conference.

-Sponsorship Task Force identifies and secures sponsors for the Annual Conference. You get extra stars in your crown for this one.

-VIP Connection Reception Task Force develops the agenda and secures participants for the VIP Connection Reception.

-Foundation Fundraiser Task Force secures sponsors, plans and executes the bowling tournament at the FSAE Annual Conference.

2. Associate Advisory Committee (AAC) maintains a liaison and dialogue between the FSAE Board of Directors and FSAE Associate Members. It focuses on issues of concern to all associate members and actively finds ways for associate members to be more engaged with executive members. The AAC actively works with several other FSAE committees to provide associate member support and works to increase the visibility of Associate members in FSAE publications. This committee is intended for Associate members; members must commit the time & expense of attending at least 2 of the 4 meetings held each year.

3. Audit Review Task Force of FSAE is comprised of five members each of whom shall be independent and free from any relationship that, in the opinion of the Board, would interfere with the exercise of their independent judgment as a member of the Audit Review Task Force. This task force is appointed by the FSAE Chairman. All members of this task force must be FSAE members in good standing and at least three members shall be active members of the Board. All members shall be financially literate and at least one member of the Audit Task Force shall have expertise in financial auditing and reporting.

4. FSAE Finance Committee reviews the annual budget and makes recommendations to staff and board. It also reviews the audit and investments and makes recommendations as needed.

5. Government Affairs Task Force identifies the legislative and regulatory issues that affect the association management profession as a whole and keeps FSAE informed of significant legislative/regulatory threats to the profession. A strong understanding of and/or experience in legislative/regulatory issues is desirable for service on this task force.

7. Membership Committee Evaluates FSAE’s membership structure and develops on-going recruitment and retention activities for FSAE.  The committee creates membership campaigns and nurtures prospects and new members.  In an effort to build a stronger committee we have combined the Central Florida Committee with the Membership Committee.

8. Sounding Board is an online advisory group that FSAE staff can consult as needed on new ideas and changes being considered. Members of this Sounding Board can help FSAE watch for creative solutions and really cool resources that are relevant to association management.
