Foundation Scholarships

2012 Foundation Scholarship Program

One of the primary purposes of the Florida Society of Association Executives Foundation is to encourage member professional development and certification through financial support. The FSAE Foundation has provided awards for many years to FSAE members through the generosity of Hyatt Hotels of Florida, Marriott and Renaissance Hotels of Florida, the contributions of FSAE members, and other supporters.

Since 2002, the Foundation has provided $132,700 for educational programming for association executives, given $91,015 in scholarships to 159 association management professionals and the Foundation has provided $177,000 to staff and to implement Foundation initiatives.

The FSAE Foundation has designed a universal Professional Development Award Application. Please review the following choices, select the award for which you are applying, and make sure your completed application is received at the FSAE Foundation by the listed deadline. A detailed list of the awards, criteria and point system is listed on the application as well.

Institute for Organization Management (IOM) Scholarship

The Florida Society of Association Executives is proud to partner with Institute for Organization Management, the U.S. Chamber’s professional development program for non-profit executives, and offer two $500 partial tuition scholarships to one of Institute’s 2012 sites. The two scholarships, available to any of FSAE members, will be awarded to students attending Institute for the first time to assist with enrollment fees and cannot be combined with any other Institute scholarships.

For 90 years, Institute has educated association and chamber leaders across the country through its national program, highly rated curriculum and high caliber instructors. Thousands of executives have attended Institute sites across the country to strengthen their management skills, learn industry best practices, and gain a broad national perspective from peers.  Institute has helped them build stronger organizations, become strong business advocates and better serve their members. In addition, you can earn up to 96 credit hours toward your CAE certification as Institute’s curriculum is directly tied to the CAE’s body of knowledge.

Upon completion of the Institute program, graduates receive the IOM recognition which allows them to use the letters “IOM” in public mention and professional correspondence.  The IOM recognition signifies the completion of 96 hours of course instruction in nonprofit management and commitment to the industry.

If you are interested in this scholarship opportunity, contact Hester Ndoja, CAE at hester@fsae.org.

Early registration deadline for Midwest and Southeast is April 30th and for West and Northeast Institutes is June 1st.
