It can be difficult to admit that the standard association membership offer doesn’t have the same level of appeal for many of our stakeholders as it once did. To build your associations to thrive in the years ahead, then, professionals like you must be able to do much more than sell membership. You must become a value creator.
Think Tank 2017 will help you develop the right mindsets and begin building an expanded skill set for creating value. Instead of dwelling on whether “membership is dead” (a counterproductive conversation to say the least), we are going to focus your attention on what matters most: how to put new value creation at the center of your work as an association professional.

Jeff De Cagna FRSA FASAE of Foresight First LLC (formerly Principled Innovation LLC), is a nationally known author, speaker, advisor and respected contrarian thinker on the future of associating and associations. Through a thoughtful blend of advance preparation resources, team-based collaboration and full group learning, you will build a more empathic understanding of future association stakeholders, and you will work hands on with colleagues from around the state of Florida to practice creating value for (and with) them.

Thanks to the generosity of our host sponsor, registration fees include your hotel room and all meals during the event. Grants are available for qualifying Young Professionals (35 years and younger OR less than 3 years in the industry).
Submit your application to participate. Approved applicants will be invited to register and make hotel reservations at that time.

What is Think Tank?
The FSAE Foundation hosts a bi-annual Think Tank to contribute to the association management knowledge base. The meeting gathers a small group of association decision makers to contemplate an issue, concern, topic, or idea concerning the operation of associations and/or the association management profession. The group, with the assistance of our informed facilitator, draws conclusions and drafts a report to contribute to the association community.
FSAE Executive Members in good standing, FSAE Board of Directors and Foundation Trustees are eligible to participate in this exciting event. The white papers below are the products of past Think Tank meetings.
