Law Enforcement Planning Tips for Conference Safety

Speaker: Tampa Officer Sean Mahabir

What are the benefits of including local Law Enforcement in your Conference Planning?
No one wants to think about and plan for the worst case scenario at a conference.  But in today’s environment – it is critical for all of us to not only think about it but to actively put plans in place for common scenarios.

The Tampa Police Department has a robust Special Events Unit that has vast experience with major events like the Republican National Convention, Super Bowl and IIFA.  Learn from the experts in the field how this experience can benefit you in your conference planning.

The presenter for this session is Tampa’s own Officer Sean Mahabir. Officer Mahabir is in the Special Incident Management Unit (SIMU) at the Tampa Police Department and has worked to successfully and safely produce many events and conferences.

At this session you will learn the benefits of incorporating local law enforcement in conference planning.  Additionally Officer Mahabir will present an Active Shooter Training.  This active shooter training includes the signs to look for when spotting a potential active shooter, situational awareness, actions to take in an active shooter situation, law enforcement response, prevention, and ends with a Q&A session.
