Power Luncheon: The Art of Membership

 1 Hour CAE

Why do some organizations grow and thrive while others do not? What causes an organization to experience a drop in membership? Although the demand for information, education and networking remains quite strong, what has changed is the criteria used to make purchasing decisions. Discover the nonnegotiable principles of membership that will help your own association flourish.

  1. Understand the value before you start selling
  2. Learn how strategic pricing helps you improve response rates
  3. Attract the next generation of members to your organization

Sheri Jacobs, FASAE, CAE is a leader, innovator and visionary whose organization Avenue M Group has helped more than 100 associations, small and large, tackle their most challenging issues. A senior executive, best-selling author (The Art of Membership: How to Attract, Retain and Cement Member Loyalty published by ASAE and Jossey-Bass) and association management veteran with nearly 20 years of experience, Sheri applied her experience in research, marketing, strategy and pricing projects to create a unique firm that helps associations achieve their goals.

CEO/CAE Session: 5 Trends Associations Can't Ignore
10:00 am - 11:00 am

 1 Hour CAE

The biggest distinction between a trend and a fad is time. Fads fade whereas trends tend to solve problems or provide better solutions. Trends have the power to influence and change behavior. Organizations that ignore trends will just need to catch up later. From cord-cutting to the loyalty among Millennials and Generation Z, Sheri Jacobs, FASAE, CAE, author of the Art of Membership, will identify the 5 trends associations cannot ignore, raise questions you should be discussing with your staff and leadership and provide examples of solutions being adopted by some organizations.

Meeting Planners and CMPs are invited to a reception from 10:30 - 11:30 for fun & informative discussions with the Hyatt Hotels in Florida representatives and indulge in fine coffees and delectable chocolates.
