Conversations That Count - Creating a Culture of Coaching On Your Leadership Team

Speaker: Barry Altland

Every volunteer and staff member carries a unique set of gifts, knowledge, skills and experiences that accompany their personal passions. What can a leader do engage and sustain the inherent passion their people bring?

This session breaks down leadership into a series of easy-to-implement practices that help leaders optimize their staff/volunteers and position them to do their best work. Deepen the engagement of each unique individual on your team through the Coaching Conversation. Coaching will be thoroughly introduced, defined, and then participants will work together to craft Coaching questions that help them get to the heart of their dedicated volunteers.

Barry Altland is a writer, speaker, non-profit executive, thought leader and published author of the book, “Engaging the Head, Heart and Hands of a Volunteer,” a simple guide for feeding the passion of those who serve. He blends world-class leadership principles from the for-profit world with his own numerous experiences as a volunteer and leader of volunteers to offer a fresh perspective on volunteer engagement. As leaders embrace Barry’s unique perspective, they develop into leaders better prepared to touch the hearts of volunteers by engaging them . . . one person at a time.
